Liverpool Students Union is the independent body representing over 24,000 students at Liverpool John Moores University.
As City Engagement Manager you will move our work to ensure students are active citizens on to the next phase. Developing innovative approaches, you will make Liverpool a better city for students and ensure they are able to participate as residents.
Supporting the Elected Vice-President (Community Engagement) and managing the Student Community Co-ordinator and a team of Community and Hall Representatives, you will achieve priority objectives, implement successful campaigns and maximise the impact of the work of our diverse volunteers. Student’s satisfaction with where they live will be improved and our diverse population will feel well integrated into their locality.
Developing productive relationships with a range of community stakeholders, you will maximise the opportunities for students to take best advantage of their time at University and in Liverpool.
The successful candidate will demonstrate, amongst other things:
evidence of creating change at a community level;
experience of successfully leading and managing others;
examples of creating and managing productive and positive partnerships, preferably involving community or civic partners;
ability to imagine and build support for innovative and successful models of student and community engagement.
