Grassroots Student Democracy in Action: The Union of Brunel Students

Serving the students of Brunel University in West London, UBS provides advice, social and representational support to a diverse student community of over 14,500 people.As a membership led organisation our staff team are required to be flexible, approachable and communicative; ensuring that the student voice remains at the heart of all we deliver.

With the Union implementing a new five year strategic plan, undertaking significant member research, and building on the significant successes it has had in student representation and democracy, student activities, advice and representation, and commercial services - it is an exciting time to join UBS.

Representation is at the heart of our Union, and we seek to recruit a like-minded, proactive individual to ensure the student voice is heard. Overseeing the wide-reaching Student Representatives programme at Brunel you will drive the development of support structures, research programmes and communications methods to take our democracy to the next level. In addition you will be charged with further developing the democratic processes including Elections, Union Meetings, and Student Assembly, building on the success in recent years and seeking ongoing advancement in the active involvement of our membership.

This role is advertised on a permanent full time basis, with generous holiday allowances and a contributory pension scheme available. The campus also offers excellent sporting/gym facilities and regular transport links to West and Central London in addition to easy access to the M25, M3, M40 and M4 motorways.
