Elections to the DOBs & CAGs - How to stand

It's that time of year again!. We are looking for passionate people to stand for election for positions on our Direction and Oversight Boards and our Charity Advisory Groups.

The Direction and Oversight Board's (DOB's) are there to support the decision making of the NUS Services Board in matters of NUS extra, Purchasing, and UnionCloud within students’ unions. Please read the *role profile to find out more information on the opportunities available, what they entail and what's expected.

We currently have the following Officer positions available on our Direction and Oversight Boards:

  • 2 x Officer positions on the Union Cloud DOB
  • 2 x Officer positions on the NUS extra DOB
  • 1 x Officer position on the Epona Board. 1 of the 2 positions were filled by Ellie Keiller from Birmingham Guild who was elected unopposed on 2 May 2017
  • Trading Support DOB – Both positions on this DOB were filled, elected unopposed on 2 May 2017 were Ellie Keiller from Birmingham Guild and Darren Clarke from Staffordshire.

The Charity Advisory Groups (CAGs) are there to support the decision making of the NUS Charitable Services Board in matters of student opportunities, development, quality and environmental sustainability. Please read the * role profile to find out more information on the opportunities available, what they entail and what's expected.

We currently have the following positions available on our Charity Advisory Groups:

  • 1 x Officer position on the Student Opportunities Advisory Group. 2 out of the 3 positions were filled by Emily Andrews from Gloucestershire SU and Ruth Wilkinson from Kent SU who were both elected unopposed to this Advisory Group on 2 May 2017
  • 3 x Officer positions on the Talent Development Advisory Group. Nominations for this are open until 12noon on 24 May 2017.
  • 1 x Officer position on the SU Quality Advisory Group. 1 of the 2 positons were filled by Ran Magnusdottir from Royal Veterinary College's Student Union who was elected unopposed on 2 May 2017.
  • Environmental Sustainability Advisory Group -  All of these positions have been filled, elected unopposed on 2 May 2017 were Sam Pillow from Staffordshire, Shane Voight from Brighton and Kristina Kjønigsen from Roehampton.

*Please note, the positions available listed in the role profiles and election schedule and rules document have changed slightly as of 2 May 2017 due to some candidates being elected unopposed. Positions currently available are listed above.
