Train the Trainer: Designing and Delivering Liberation, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The course aims to train students' union staff to be able to proficiently design and deliver effective and inclusive Liberation, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training. 

Course Objectives: 

  • Clarify and differentiate between key concepts related to liberation, equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Deconstruct how oppression manifests and the impact on different groups
  • Explore the considerations that need to be made when designing inclusive LEDI training for a range of stakeholder groups
  • Explore and Practice facilitating dialogue and sensitive discussions
  • Consider your role and impact on LEDI training

The course is aimed at Students’ Union staff responsible for writing and delivering training across a variety of roles (including democracy, campaigns, student opportunities and human resources). This training is to complement the current Train the Trainer course on offer and to act as a supplementary learning opportunity.

Participants should:

  • Have undertaken the NUS train the trainer course or have equivalent experience in designing and delivering training.
  • Have some experience and knowledge on liberation, equality, diversity and inclusion issues

***Please note there will be pre-work set, which must be completed prior to the course so that you are able to participate in the activities and get the most from the training – please ensure you will be able to commit at least 2-4 hours to this. Pre course work will be emailed to you 2 weeks prior to the course***

The course fee is £199 plus VAT
