Sustainability Roundtable

NUS Sustainability Programmes Roundtable

The NUS Sustainability Programmes Roundtable is a chance for those delivering, or interested in delivering, any of our NUS sustainability programmes to come together for a day of networking, development and sharing of good practice. It is ideal for staff in FHEIs or off-campus organisations leading on any of our programmes and for students or students’ union staff/officers who have worked with their FHEI or in the community. We will report back on the 2015/16 year and give you the opportunity to feedback to us directly on your experiences, challenges and ideas for the future of our work. Last year over 90 people attended and directly influenced how we run programmes like Green Impact and Student Switch Off, as well as working together to explore the best ways of engaging and inspiring students and staff across campus, curriculum and community.

Responding to last year’s feedback, we have included sessions on collecting and sharing good practice, how we ensure students progress on education for sustainable development (ESD) pathways through involvement with the programme, maintaining momentum, and budget/funding. We will also be celebrating our national Green Impact special award winners, and discussing funding we have to help establish entrepreneurial food growing spaces.

Who should attend?

Programme leads running any of our behaviour change programmes in any organisation; students’ union officers and staff with a responsibility for sustainability or student opportunities; sustainability practitioners interested in running one of NUS’ programmes; students with a keen interest in NUS’ sustainability work. Spaces will be limited so attendance will be on a first come first served basis (to a total of 120 delegates). If necessary a limit of 3 delegates per organisation will be implemented. This event is free to attend.

Three key outcomes

  • Great networking, peer-to-peer support and sharing of good practice across our programmes and sectors
  • An opportunity to find out about the various programmes we could help you deliver, plan new activities and increase staff and student engagement in your campaigns
  • Active participation in the development of our programmes
