Student Media Summit

Now in its eighth year, the annual NUS and Amnesty International UK Student Media Summit will be hosted at the Human Rights Action Centre, headquarters of Amnesty International UK.

The event has become the premier gathering for students aspiring to careers in the media and is designed to help build and improve your skills, prepare you for your next step in journalism, and offer some excellent networking opportunities with professionals from across the industry.

It has a focus on reporting big issues that matter most to NUS and Amnesty, such as human rights abuses and struggles for political freedom, access to education and the vital role education plays within a society.

With the chance to meet high level professionals involved in every journalistic discipline including comment, investigative, entertainment, overseas and politics, the Student Media Summit is an opportunity not to be missed. Previous professionals have included Evan Davis, Emily Maitlis and Owen Jones to name a few.

We will also be holding sessions on television and radio, sub-editing and design, sourcing ethical advertising revenue, and managing a student newsroom.

It will also give you a unique opportunity to get some fresh and exclusive content for your outlet – so remember to bring a pen and recording equipment!

Attendance is free (with a £5 registration charge to cover admin costs), but you will need to register to be able to attend. Food and drink will be provided over the two days - Please note that this event is open to over 18's only.

There is a limited capacity for this event so please book your place to avoid disappointment.

Registration for this event is now closed.
