LLDD Lead & Change

This course aims to enable officers with learning difficulties and disabilities to gain skills, knowledge and confidence to be effective student leaders in further education. The course will take student officers on a journey to reflect on their understanding of leadership and traits of strong leaders, to consider the importance of their role within their college and society, as well as understanding how to plan and deliver campaigns to improve the quality of their educational experiences.

Who it is for?

Student representatives from specialist colleges and learners with learning difficulties and disabilities from general further education college from affiliated students’ unions are able to attend this event for free. Student representatives from non-affiliated students’ unions are able to attend for a small fee. 

Delegates who attend the course will:

• Learn who NUS are and what we do
• Meet other student leaders and share ideas
• Learn about the role of student leaders, who can be one, and the skills a ‘good’ leader has
• Talk about student problems and learn how to help solve them
