An intensive two day programme designed to give participants an overview of the key issues in student housing and their impact on the community. The programme encourages participant discussion with a view to seeing how students’ unions can make a real impact on local and national policies and can campaign effectively in these areas for their members.

The two days will cover:

• An overview of student housing issues and NUS’ policy development
• Regulation and its effectiveness
• How students’ unions and local authorities are responding to community led issues
• Article Four and how Student Unions can respond
• Responding to higher fees and their impact on student accommodation
• Forthcoming new policies
• Accreditation and its role

The event is being run at a subsidised rate of £140 for two days and includes two nights' accommodation on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th August.
