The NUS Crime Porject is currently developing Student SafetyNet (SSN) a free tool for students’ unions to assist efforts to reduce crimes against, and increase the safety and awareness of, their students. SSN, which will be avalible in June, allows students’ unions to operate a free smartphone application and web service for their students. The NUS Crime Team have just finished delivering a series of regional workshops. These day long events were designed to give students’ unions and local Police officers the opportunity to spend time action planning the future of student safety and security at their Higher Education Institution's....

To coincide with International Day Against Hate Crime on 23 October, NUS has launched a survey exploring students’ knowledge, understanding, and experiences of prejudiced or bias-motivated incidents – more commonly known as ‘hate’ crime or 'hate' incidents. This research will help us to understand, respond to, and prevent hate on campuses.
