The National Union of Students in Wales (NUSW) is aiming to increase student awareness about the forthcoming Assembly elections, as well as putting pressure on candidates to support students in the next Assembly term.
The National Union of Students in Wales has invited all candidates for the National Assembly for Wales election to speak out in favour of protecting student support and back their 'Access All Areas' campaign. In the week leading up to the election, NUS Wales will be contacting students, their families and members of the public to inform them which candidates have agreed to support the campaign.
Today NUS Wales can reveal that 166 candidates have confirmed their support for the ‘Access All Areas’ campaign, which seeks to protect student support funding levels during the next Assembly term. In addition, the party leaders from Plaid Cymru (Ieuan Wyn Jones), Wales Green Party (Jake Griffiths), the Welsh Conservatives (Nick Bourne), Welsh Labour (Carwyn Jones) and the Welsh Liberal Democrats (Kirsty Williams) have all given their support.
