NUS-USI launches new EMA survey

NUS-USI has launched a new survey on Education Maintenance Allowance at their conference in Enniskillen this week. NUS-USI is campaigning to protect EMA as it believes that any cut to it would hit students from lower income backgrounds very hard and many people would be forced to quit their studies to earn money to help them make ends meet.

Adrianne Peltz has been re-elected as NUS-USI President following an election at NUS-USI’s Annual Conference at the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen today. Adrianne has been President of NUS-USI since last year.

 
Conference to discuss support funds and combating blood donation ban against gay men

Monday and Tuesday (16 and 17 April) sees NUS-USI’s Annual Conference taking place at the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen. Motions up for discussion include the importance of maintaining student support funds in the face of the potential abolition of the Department for Employment and Learning, and the need for further pressure to be placed on the Health Minister to end the ban on gay men donating blood.

Welcome to NUS-USI. My name is Adrianne Peltz, I am the President of NUS-USI, which is an organisation formed by the National Union of Students UK (NUSUK) and the Union of Students in Ireland (USI).

We provide representation and support to students throughout their time at University or College here in Northern Ireland. We represent all students in both the Higher Education and Further Education Sector. NUS-USI is the voice of almost 200,000 students in Northern Ireland!
