In June 2012 the government commissioned businessman Doug Richards to produce a report on the future of apprenticeships. He was asked to consider how apprenticeships could look in the future and to make recommendations on what the core components of an apprenticeship should be. In response to the Richard Review the government has launched a consultation on some of the key issues raised by Doug Richard.
