Student support is broken, it doesn’t deliver for students, especially those who need the most support and we need a clear solution to champion and advocate for.
The Government have suggested that HEI’s introduce fee waivers as part of trying to reduce their costs with little benefit to students.
EMA has been scrapped and the “National Scholarship Scheme” is written off as a botched piece of policy by nearly all in the sector.
All this, plus trebled fees, and students are still arriving on campus faced with additional hidden costs for trips, resources and materials, that are essential to their course with little cash to pay for them.
Through a robust evidence base and powerful campaigning, we want to transform the way that students are financially supported and get rid of hidden course costs.
We have published our 18 month long research programme into student financial support. Look out for the upcoming consultation on policy.
