Do we need to answer each question on the nomination form?
Yes, the questions on the nomination form resemble the criteria for the award.
But what if I want to add something in that doesn’t fit with the questions?
In most criteria, there is the option to add any other comments. However, you are encouraged to stick to and answer each question, as these are the criteria that the award is judged against.
If you can’t answer one of the questions then the likelihood is that you are entering the wrong example or the wrong category.

Why is the NUS Awards part of the Students’ Unions 2012 Conference?
Students’ Unions 2012 will be the second annual summer gathering of staff and officers from students’ unions.
This two-day, two-night event will set out the key strategic challenges facing the movement whilst focusing on sharing and showcasing best practice from students’ unions, higher education and the voluntary sector.
The NUS Awards has been combined with this inspiring event as they recognise excellence within the student movement and are open to all NUS affiliated unions, which reflects the ethos of the Students’ Unions 2012 conference.
Where has the Class Representative of the Year award gone?
The award for Class Representative of the Year has not been taken away completely, it has simply moved to a more suitable event to allow students to be recognised amongst fellow peers.
The event will be just as exciting, if not more special, and details will be released soon. It is our aspiration to also celebrate student media successes at the Student Media Summit from 2013.
Will we get feedback if we are unsuccessful?
We cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide feedback on every unsuccessful entry because of the volume of entries. We will however endeavour to give feedback to shortlisted entries.
