There’s still time to register for Green Impact - our flagship sustainability programme for students’ unions
Green Impact runs in over a hundred students’ unions every year, helping you take action on all aspects of sustainability from energy, to waste, to campaigning, to community outreach.
There’s still time to sign up for 2015/16 – but you’ll need to act fast. Registration closes soon.
Whether you’re completely new to sustainability, or feel like you’ve hit a glass ceiling and don’t know where to go next, we’ll support you in working through a range of actions that can make a huge impact over the coming year.
You can be big, small, FE, HE, commercial or non-commercial – it doesn’t matter. We can all be part of one movement for sustainability and social justice.
Over the past years, students’ unions have used Green Impact as a platform for ambitious projects and transformative change – from setting up community outreach schemes to tackle social isolation, to establishing student-led credit unions, to occupying disused banks for collaborative and creative spaces.
It also helps you get the basics in place – from energy efficient lighting, to Fairtrade procurement, to tackling water waste in the toilets.
Working through a workbook of actions and criteria with your staff and officers, your union is rewarded with a Gold, Silver or Bronze award at NUS Awards 2016 – with special prizes for the unions who make the biggest impacts.
There’s a huge student demand for sustainability to be a core part of their time in education, and Green Impact can help you embed it across your campus, curriculums and community.
