NUS Vice President (Union Development) Richard Brooks responds to Warwick Students' Union's affiliation referendum, which saw students overwhelmingly vote to remain a member of NUS.
Richard Brooks, NUS vice president (union development), said:
“I’m thrilled students at the University of Warwick have voted for their student’s union to remain a part of the national union, as we will always be stronger when we work together.
“We’re already developing a new democratic structure and planning to reform our membership model. I look forward to working with Warwick Students’ Union to implement these changes.
“With both a white paper and a bill published this week, this vote comes at a crucial turning point in the future of higher education. Together we must stand up to the government’s plans to further marketise the sector and make sure students have a say in decisions about their education.”
