The Department for Education has received 28 responses from students’ unions to their technical consultation over the implementation of the new Teaching Excellence Framework.
The government has been consulting HE sector bodies on the technical implementation of the Teaching Excellence Framework, one of the new structures laid out in the higher education white paper.
The TEF is designed to assess the quality of teaching in England’s universities but will ultimately be linked to the setting of differential tuition fees.
It is vital that the student voice is considered during this process, which represents a radical overhaul of the sector, and around one in ten students’ unions have submitted their views.
NUS submitted a response in line with our policy, and we are delighted to see so many unions take part – thank you to all who contributed.
The government are now analysing the responses and will publish their conclusions in the coming months.
