British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) have released a new resource for supporting student mental health through sport and physical activity.
University Mental Health Day was marked on campuses around the country yesterday, and BUCS teamed up with Student Minds to release a new report on the relationship between sport and mental health at university.
'University Sport & Mental Health' looks at the scale of student mental health issues and how universities and students' unions can use sport to help.
It reveals the 'invisible problem' of student mental health, with 29 per cent of students experiencing clinical levels of psychological distress.
Participation in sport and physical activity can have a transformative effect on students' mental health and wellbeing, and the new resource includes a range of recommendations for making sport accessible and beneficial for all. You can read it in full here.
