On Wednesday 2 December the National Executive Council met for the third time this year. At the meeting council members heard the reports of the President, Vice presidents, Liberation, Nations and Sections Officers.
The meeting was livestreamed and the recording will be available on the NUS youtube channel. Officers gave a short report on their work since September. Council members were then given the opportunity to ask questions of the officers and hold them to account. You can read the reports on the NEC Hub.
The NEC noted the Update on Estimates and NUS UK Trustee Board Update.
NEC then debated emergency interim policy that was submitted as motions by council members. There were 13 motions submitted and an additional 2 emergency motions submitted after the motions deadline.
The following 7 Motions passed in the order that they were discussed:

‘Emergency Motion 2: Support Adil Waraich’
‘Motion 7 | Red Card to the Green Paper’
‘Motion 9 | Counter-extremism’
‘Motion 13| #Saveourcolleges – Interim response to Area Review of post-16 education and training’
‘Motion 1 | F**K Funding Factions’ passed with parts taken to delete all but believes 1 and 4
‘Motion 2 | Automatic Voter Registration’
