On Tuesday 13 September the National Executive Council met for the second time this year. Council members voted on emergency motions and heard reports from members.
The meeting was livestreamed and the recording will be available on the NUS youtube channel. Officers presented thier progress since July. Council members were then given the opportunity to ask questions of the officers and hold them to account. You can read the reports on the NEC Hub.
The NEC received reports on the budget allocation and an update from the trustee board.
The NEC made the following appointments for 2016/17 -
Region Allocations for Block of 15:
London: Daniel Nikolla, Matt Grange, Ali Milani, Ana Oppenheim
South East: Omar Raii
Midlands: Yinbo Yu, Rachel Holland, Izzy Lenga
North East: Hassun El Zafar
North West: Zamzam Ibrahim
Northern Ireland: Sean Mcnamee
Scotland: Angela Alexander
South West: Sahaya James, Jasmine Manning
Wales: Siôn Davies
The NEC debated emergency motions. Motions were passed in this order:

Supporting the Junior Doctors
Extend the No Platform Policy Online
Defend Education – no fees and cuts: protest outside Tory Party Conference 2016
