On Monday 18 July the National Executive Council met for the first time this year. Council members voted on emergency motions and heard reports from members.
The meeting was livestreamed and the recording will be available on the NUS youtube channel. Officers presented thier priorities for the next year. Council members were then given the opportunity to ask questions of the officers and hold them to account. You can read the reports on the NEC Hub.
The NEC approved their Standing Orders for the next year.
The NEC made the following appointments for 2016/17
Deputy National President: Shelly Asquith, Vice President Welfare
NUS Services Board: Ellen Jones, NUS Wales Womens Officer

The NEC debated emergency motions. Motions were passed in this order
Motion 1 | International Co-operation with Student Organisations – The Bergen Declaration
Motion 2 | ARAF Motion (Amendment 2b was passed and Replaced all text in the main motion)
