Following the SU roundtable on saving NHS bursaries in March, a lobby of parliament will take place on Wednesday 25 May.
The government has announced that it plans to abolish the NHS bursary system for new nursing, midwifery and allied health professional students in England from 2017.
The aim of the Westminster lobby on Wednesday 25 May is to meet as many MPs as possible and convince them to speak out against the changes.
We are particularly focussing on meeting Conservative MPs who may be able to force the government to rethink their plans to scrap bursaries.
To do this we are asking students’ unions to bring healthcare students to the lobby who have a Conservative as either their home or their term time MP.
Arranging meetings in advance will help ensure that the right MPs are lobbied and that those meetings have maximum impact.
For more information, read this briefing on the lobby or take a look at our NHS bursaries campaign pages.
