Motions Submitted to Black Students Conference 2017

Motions have now been published for Black Students Conference to be held 20-21 May 2017

NUS Black Students conference will bring together a wide range of student activists to debate, vote on motions and elect the political leadership for the year ahead.

Motions have been submitted to the conference covering the following areas of work – Motions can be found on the Black Students Conference Hub

Motions are titled:
Motion 101: Defending and strengthening the representation of students of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage
Motion 102: NUS Black Students Campaign Inclusivity and Representation
Motion 103: Childcare at Conferences
Motion 201: Uniting against racism
Motion 202: A hard Brexit will increase racism, damage education and destroy jobs
Motion 203: Supporting Black Students Reporting Racism
Motion 204: In support of mental health services for Black students
Motion 205: No to Stop and Search and Racial Profiling
Motion 301: International peace and justice – no to Trump, wars, poverty and climate change
Motion 302: Abolish African Debt
Motion 303: Condemn Predatory Peacekeepers
Motion 304: BDS
Motion 401: Changing the name of our campaign: stepping forward together

Amendment 401a: Campaign Name Referendum
Amendment 401b: Political Blackness & NUS Liberation Group/Conference Name
