Make social action a part of life for young people – join the #iwill campaign.
#iwill is the national campaign aiming to make social action the norm among 10-20 year-olds by 2020.
40 per cent of young people currently engage in some form of social action - practical action in the service of others that creates positive change - and #iwill want to embed social action in everyone's educational experience.
There is a clear case for universities, colleges and students' unions to promote social action among students. It can have a transformative impact on students, campuses and local communities, and this is already recognised by many leaders in the sector.
Working with a wide variety of organisations, #iwill can only be a success if partners and supporters give concrete pledges of support – and more than 500 organisations have already done so!
Wednesday 8 June is ‘Share Your Pledge Day’ and is the perfect time to get involved with the campaign by:
- shouting about your pledge;
- celebrating the contribution that young people make in their communities;
- encouraging more organisations to get involved with the campaign.
A short resource pack is available to outline a range of simple steps that you can take to highlight your pledge, show commitment to the campaign, and help make social action an engrained part of student life.
