We are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for this year’s NUS International Students’ Awards, which will be hosted at the International Students’ Conference on Saturday 13 May 2017.
We believe that it is vitally important to recognise, reward and celebrate the hard work and achievements of international students throughout colleges and universities over the last year.
This year has been a difficult one for international students. From the threat posed by Brexit, to the open bigotry of Trump, to the anti-immigrant polices of this government, it’s becoming increasingly tough to work and study as a migrant in the UK. Despite the challenges of the past year, however, students’ unions across the country have done an incredible job in defending the rights of international students, and celebrating all they bring to our institutions.
To celebrate this, we will be awarding a winner and runner up under five categories:
- International Student of the Year
- International Students’ Officer of the Year
- International Student Campaign of the Year
- Internationalised Students’ Union of the Year (FE)
- Internationalised Students’ Union of the Year (HE)
Winners will be decided by a panel of judges from across the sector.
The awards will be presented on the Saturday evening of International Students’ Conference at our annual gala dinner. If you haven’t registered for conference already you can do so here.
If there’s something that you’re proud of and want to celebrate, or know someone else who you think has been a fantastic advocate for international students, we want to hear from you. For full information on what to include and whether you qualify to win an award, check out our nomination page.
Nominations are open from Monday 27 March until Friday 14 April 2017. Please send any questions to email@example.com.
