In pictures: experiences of stop and search

Thursday 04-12-2014 - 15:46

Photographer Darren Johnson has worked with NUS to capture images of students illustrating their past experiences with stop and search and why it must end.

Young people and students must be protected by the police, no matter what age or ethnicity they are which is why NUS is asking the next Government to remove random stop and search powers from the police as part of our New Deal for the next generation.

Young Black men in particular are more likely to be a target for unwarranted harassment and worse from our police forces. Here students illustrate their experiences with stop and search, and why it must end.
