Tuesday 16-06-2015 - 18:47

NUS Trade Show 2015 is a free event and the one of its kind in the UK which is dedicated to the student market.

Featuring over 200 suppliers, both old and new, NUS Trade Show 2015 will give you the opportunity to order some fantastic ‘on the day’ deals.

This year’s event, which will be held at the Bolton Arena on Thursday 9 July, boasts a wide-ranging programme of workshops that will give you a brief insight into the commercial challenges facing students’ unions today.

No session lasts longer than an hour, allowing you plenty of time to get around without missing out on the rest of the exhibition – and on that note, we’ve picked out five reasons to book your place at Trade Show 2015.

1. Look and book

See and sample lots of new product innovations and promotions for the new academic year with hundreds of suppliers all under the same roof.

You’ll also be able to take advantage of some great licensed trade and retail officers which will only be available on-the-day at Trade Show.

2. Interactive demonstrations

We’ve got some great demonstrations and sessions lined up for this year’s event including…

A BBQ Masterclass
The experts at Sailor Jerry will introduce you to some fantastic old-school BBQ recipes and complimentary cocktails to add to your union outlet menu.

Wine tasting
Crown Cellars will be highlighting recent trends and growth areas, showing you how to put together a contemporary wine list and covering basic food and wine matching principles, all of which will be followed by a brief tasting.

An introduction to craft beer
Carlsberg UK join us to explain why your union should tap into the craft beer craze and how to get your range right with the food offered in your bar. In addition, they’ll deliver a demo on making cocktails easy!

3. The annual Bols/ NUS cocktail competition

Six unions will compete in our annual cocktail competition for their chance to win a team trip to Amsterdam. Want to learn more about the competition? Read our interview with Chester’s Jez Gilmour, a previous winner, here.

4. The networking

Trade Show is a unique opportunity to meet and network with current and new suppliers to learn more about their products and how they can best support your needs.  It’s also a great way to share ideas with others in similar roles across the country.

5. Picking up new skills

This year, we’re also hosting training at Bolton Arena on Wednesday 8 July, sharing the latest research insights, category developments for licensed trade, perfect serve training for beers and ciders and cocktail training. Spaces are limited but if you’re interested in learning more, click here.
