NUS welcomes your participation at our annual Disabled Students Conference taking place 11-13 April 2017. The process of Nomination and Motion submission is now open.
Who can attend?
Disabled Students Representatives from across the UK. Each Union is entitled to send 1 delegate with voting and speaking rights and up to 3 observers who will have speaking rights but no voting rights. The delegate must be elected and is free of charge. Observers will have an additional charge at registration.
The elected national disabled students committee act as representatives of disabled students. The Current Officer is James Elliott. The nominations deadline for the full-time disabled students officer is 1st March, and the Disabled Students Committee will be elected at the conference
- Learn and Collaborate
Delegates can attend workshops to build campaigns together. Past workshops have included 'Accessible and effective direct action', 'Mental Health Support and Suicide Prevention' and 'Leadership Development'.
- NUS Disabled Students Campaign Awards
Each year dedicated students, officers and unions go the extra mile to improve the lives of students who define into one or more Liberation campaigns. This is a chance to reward this work and best practice within universities and unions recognising the hard work unions and officers out in ensuring campaigns are effectively supporting the students they represent.
