Can you stand for election at Conference if you’re not a delegate?

Thursday 05-03-2015 - 14:56

Nominations have re-opened for Vice President (Communities), Executive Representatives and Asylum and Refugee Officer.

As there were insufficient valid nominations received by the deadline, nominations for Vice President (Communities), Executive Representatives and Asylum and Refugee Officer positions have been re-opened and will close on Friday 20 March, at NUS Scotland Conference. To stand for the Scottish Procedures Committee you must be a delegate at NUS Scotland Conference.

Please note to stand for election for these positions you do not have to be a delegate to NUS Scotland Conference – any student member of NUS Scotland can stand. If a candidate is standing who is not a delegate they will be invited to attend the Conference during the election in order to take part in the hustings. Candidates who are not also delegates will not have voting rights.

If you are thinking of standing for election, but are not a delegate to the Conference, please get in touch with democracy@nus-scotland.org.uk to find out more.

Full information on how to stand and nomination forms can be found on the Conference hub here.
