Afilliation fees, Abatement and Hardship
Students' Union afilliation fees are calculated using a formula approved by National Conference. Your fee will be invoiced to you each year, but a 'ready reckoner' is available.
Students’ Unions can reduce the amount they pay in affiliation fees if they incur particular expenditure as part of their block grant figure which is used to calculate their affiliation fee. They do this using the abatement form before the 31st July.
Hardship may be claimed by a students' union. The underpinning principle of which is that the union in question could not have reasonably foreseen the circumstance that requires them to claim. The form for doing so is
here and the deadline is 27 November.
